LET SUREBOND PERMANENTLY eliminate YOUR CAULKING failure problemS
why does caulking fail AS A SEALING MATERIAL FOR INDUSTRIAL ENVIRONMENTS?
GENERALLY, CAULKING IS REALLY NOT APPROPRIATE AS A LONG TERM SEALING SOLUTION FOR EXPOSURE TO INDUSTRIAL WET, SANITATION CHEMICALS. CAULKINGS HAVE MEDIOCRE CHEMICAL - MECHANICAL BONDING. THEY CAN SHRINK. CAULKING PROBLEMS CAN FURTHER BE BROKEN WITH THE FOLLOWING CONTRIBUTING FACTORS:
INSUFFICIENT / NON-EXISTENT SURFACE PREP OF WALL AND KERB MATERIALS AS PART OF REPAIR PROCEDURE
LOW BONDING STRENGTH OF THE STANDARD MATERIAL USED: CAULKINGS HAVE POOR BOND STRENGTH AND SHRINK WITH TIME.
USED AS AN INAPPROPRIATE “FILLER” MATERIAL FOR REPAIR FOR CONCRETE KERBS
COLD TEMPERATURE OF REPAIR AND LONG CURING TIME
SANITATION CHEMICALS DETERIORATE THE CAULKING MATERIALS
USE OF PRESSURE WASHERS TO CLEAN WALLS AND KERBS DRIVES WATER INTO AND BEHIND WALLS AND KERBS
TYPICAL CAULKING FAILURES INVOLVING INSULATED WALLS AND CONCRETE KERBS

Contaminated floor caulking that we removed in one project. Floor caulking is typically more contaminated due to high exposure than wall caulking. However, wall caulking is thinner, and it also fails quickly. Any caulking that remains in-place usually will have water and organics behind it, or it just peels quickly from the surface it is supposed to "seal".

Flashing with caulking that is supposed to seal the wall. But, you can see the caulking failing from the top of the kerb area above. Down below, you can see water that is coming out from under the kerb. So behind the kerb, it is continually wet. EVERY URETHANE FLOOR WE REMOVE IN THESE AREAS HAS SIGNIFICANT MOLD GROWTH UNDERNEATH.

A new caulking bead to seal the joint between the insulated panel and the urethane coated kerb. The bead will fail quickly. Note: the kerb is permanently stained with organics and moisture as it is a very porous material.
WE Have permanent caulking elimination solutions for tough environments

This demonstration showcases the Silikal R62 Flake Flooring System, seamlessly integrated with an FRP wall assembly using the Silikal HK31 Cove. This continuous, water-tight seal prevents moisture intrusion behind the FRP panels, thereby promoting superior hygienic conditions and significantly extending the structural lifespan of the facility.

We use our MMA flooring resins horizontally and vertically to permanently install our caulking alternative to seal the wall - kerb joint.

We mechanically bond well to old, contaminated polyurethane floor and kerb coatings, as well as the stainless end plate and metal insulated panel.

100% hermetically sealed joint, bonding the plastic end impact plate to the damaged concrete kerb / contaminated urethane cement. No moisture. No pests can get through the repair.

The foreground is FRP, looking downward at a Schluter piece. The Schluter has a bead of our Silikal® MMA resin that bonds and permanently seals to the Schluter, so no water can get behind it and the FRP. Caulking eliminated forever.

Our MMA coated plastic panels are sealed to the Schluter on top, as as well as at the bottom next to the concrete. The vertical joints are permanently sealed with MMA resin, as well as the bolt heads sealed that hold the panel to the concrete grade beam.

Permanently sealed, and proven technique in a tough, cold 6C, moist environment. Fully cured in less than 1 hour. Pests will never be able to get through our caulking replacement material. All of our work here is renovation work, and not on new concrete.
