FOOD PLANT LABORATORY hygienic FLOOR ON Elevated STEEL Platform

The client needed a QA / QC laboratory located inside their plant. The laboratory needed to be elevated due to space constraints, and a safe, sloped flooring system would be required.

SureBond designed a sloped system to accommodate the floor welded penetrations from the deck.

In using our resin during live production, SureBond extracted our resin odour on a best efforts basis to minimize inconveniencing plant operations.

The Silikal RV368 membrane was use to seal all welded joint gaps so that water could not penetrate to the production area below.

We sloped inward to "gulley" areas using Silikal R17

Additional sloping in the central area inward.

The surface is now ready for RV368 skimming of the entire floor.

The Silikal R17 plastic concrete cures to 80 to 90 MPa in less than 2 hours. We could not use cementitious concrete is it would not bond properly in a thin layer, and it would have poor compressive strength.

The finished Silikal R61 quartz floor, sloped and ready for full service for the lab equipment placement.

Coving was added to the side to help reduce the risk of sanitation water flowing over the sides of the elevated, open environment QA QC laboratory.
